02 3D Assignment ; Metal Wire Sculpture
That huge ass metal wire sculpture was done by 5 boys in 14 days straight .
Mr.Ernesto gave us our second assignment and this time it was about metal wires !

And he made sure that we use the thicker ones.

It all starts from a ring and my 3rd floor Basement . We got all the tools we needed and metal wires , this was also after finalising it after a real size sketch of the Komodo so I guess you could say it actually started from a pencil or maybe Mr.Ernesto since he ga ..... nevermind forget it.
Anyways , we got everything we needed and headed to my place.

We worked and worked and worked . Trying to figure out how to get the whole thing started took awhile since it was all our first time handling something like this. Around the 3rd day we started going ham on it and really started figuring out how the wires will all come together and our komodo will become real.

We started by doing the body of the komodo first with two rings and a line . We later then added more lines and what not.

Soon enough we had what looks like a cannon and started doing a short pirate attack short film kinda thing

But of course we then continued and we had to make BATTLE ARMOR ! to make our Komodo Body because metal wires hurt like a bitch.

Fast forward like a few days and we're in class at Taylors Lakeside still working on our Komodo and figuring things out. Also , the head , tail and legs has all been done .

So we started hooking them up

and yea , we already wrapped the legs and did the toes will metal wires , okay basically it's all metal wires.

Everything has been successfully connected and it's starting to look like a Metal Sculpture. We also wrapped up the legs , head and tail.

It took us around like the last 3 days to wrap up everything.

Finalising the last part as you can see YC smiling very happy that this is all coming to an end.

We later then applied metal varnish for the finishing to give it the nice shiny metallic look and also to make sure it doesn't rust . I remember Mr.Ernesto saying it could last up to 15 years if it's done nicely .

It was displayed outside lakeside and of course we just had to take a picture with it under the rain for cool effects :)
Besides all the fun working on this , we did go through a lot of minor injuries like a lot of them , the highest reaching Jac Kee who totalled up to 70 + cuts while the rest of us with around 50 to 60 . By the end of it , I kinda knew how making metal wire sculptures work but of course there was so much more to it cause it doesn't end at the Komodo for me ... I have another class which is Fundamental Drawing , which also required us to make a human sculpture this time with metal wires.
