Assignment 01 : CTX Essay I'm not exactly sure how to start , so I am just going to start . When this assignment was given I honestly had some trouble deciding what movie to watch until one fine day , I was listening to an artist called Logic who has a song called " Metropolis " in his album " Under Pressure " . Where at one point of the song there's a small skit where a guy and a girl is on a date and their talking about movies , where he mentions " Pulp Fiction " .

I have always wanted too see Pulp Fiction but like I guess I never had the time or maybe it was just me , so what better way to watch a movie I really want to watch and get an assignment done at the same time . Anyways , Pulp Fiction is a 1994 movie , film and directed by Quentin Tarantino . In short , its a story about the lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. Fun fact , Tarantino was a high school drop out who worked at a video store as a clerk and also a crazy mad artistic genius . At around 2a.m. on 10/14/16 , me and my friend started the movie after a long day of looking around for microphones at KL and honestly walking around in KL is really tiring . Anyways , back to the topic at hand , the movie ran for about 3 hours long but neither me nor my friend felt it as we were completely engulfed in the movie , in fact im surprised now as it is , since I just found out the movie was 3 hours long while typing this . Since we started at 2a.m. it would make sense that we would finish around 5a.m. but we did pause once in awhile for smoke breaks as watching the movie and seeing each actor smoked in like every single scene made us want to smoke and there was quite a lot to take in after each scene . The movie played out in such a way where there were different parts in which they were not even in chronological order , when each part ended the screen fades to black and that is when we would pause for smoke breaks and just some time to talk about each scene . The movie starts off with the definition of " Pulp " .

I find it really cool how they started off the movie with the definition of " Pulp " , I mean when is the last time you saw a movie that started off with the definition of the first half of the title , never right ! Unless you saw Pulp Fiction then you my friend have a great taste in movies . Let's move on to the first scene of the movie .

" Meet Pumpkin and Honeybunny , two people just casually having breakfast "
I'll tell you their real character names later on , since you don't get to know it in this part of the movie yet either and their talking about how someone robbed a bank with a telephone . Oh and also HoneyBunny is the girl and Pumpkin is the guy , just to make sure .

" Nobody ever robs restaurants , why not ? "
When I was first heard this , I thought too myself , yea why not ? And then he goes on with saying how the manager only cares about when is the next group of people is going to enter the diner and what about the waiters and waitresses , of course they would not give a damn , I mean they earn like about rm8 an hour and I would know , I worked at a restaurant called ANTE , a western restaurant in one utama . It was only for 6 days tho . He later then goes on with saying do you really think they give a f*** and would take a bullet for the register , of course not . And he's right , also its really hard to expect a restaurant getting robbed compared too say gas stations , liquor stores and etc . It's just unexpected .

"Any of you fuckin' pricks move and I'm gonna execute every mother fucking last one of you." says , Honeybunny .
So they actually decided to rob the restaurant , The fact that they were talking about it seconds ago and then they actually do it and Pumpkin just goes " Everybody be cool , this is a robbery " followed up with the caption below the picture above this paragraph and BAM ! This picture gets like a 5 second pause with " Dick Dale and His Del Tones - Miserlou " playing .

" The title of the movie makes an appearance " Just like that the screen fades to black , " PULP FICTION "
slowly ascends from the bottom of the screen with the song still playing and <credits starts rolling> . With the main cast overlapping the title , as it continued showing the main cast one by one , you can see the title becoming smaller and smaller until it dissapeared . Right then , I told myself " I'm definitely going to like this movie " . I got all excited with my friend and we were both just , did that really just happened , the first damn scene of the movie is like that . It's like we alredy knew this is going to be a great movie with the amazing camera angles , acting skills , soundtrack , oh god the sound track is amazing and so on and on .
Now , there are a lot of things to say about this movie , from how everything was perfectly put together despite it not being in chronological order or maybe what is in that god damn suit case for fucks sake ! Or how the scene where Mia was about to overdose and Vince had to give her the adrenaline shot right through the heart . They filmed that scene backwards where the needle was already in her and Vince pulled it out , reverse that footage and you get a safe " Adrenaline Shot Scene "

" As he was about to give her the adrenaline shot "

" Here goes nothing " This was a really great scene by the way , then again all the scenes were pretty good like really really good .

" He ask's her , if she is alright , say something and she said ' something ' "

" A group of relieved people " .
Anyways , let start talking about the moral of the story and what I think the main moral of the story is . It is basically do good and good things will come you way and do bad , bad things will come your way . A perfect example would be , Vince and Jules and how in that one scene where they got completely fucked over by this guy running out of the toilet with a hand cannon that was bigger then him .

" Die motherfuckers " Bonnie screams , rushing out of the toilet .

" Unrealisticly , he fucking missed every single shot "
Later , Jules goes and metions " Divine Intervention " when Vince just thinks they got lucky and they did not die . But Jules on the other hand , geniunely believed god was there to save their asses , which gives him the very single thought of leaving the hitmen and re-thinking about his life which he goes on a transition to help people and not kill . Sadly , Vince did not agree and just said he was going to be a bum

" He's calling him the first verb "
And just like that Jules left , I guess , we do not really know but im pretty sure he left . And Vince dies later on in the movie with not even a line before he gets shot down by Butch right after the pop tart finishes toasting

. " He's aiming at the toilet after hearing the flush sound "

" The ' I'm fucked ' looked " and

" Just like that , he dies , without any last words "
I guess what I am trying to say is that because Vince continued doing bad things he ended up with a bad ending and Jules on the other hand who knows what happened to him , only Quentin .
